idk why but i just couldnt get behind Gamma, it was buggier than base Anomaly, had too many extra HUD elements, and the combat really didnt feel that different from my difficulty settings (pretty much maxed out with Hardcore AI aim on) this was quite some time ago though, if anyone can tell me its not as buggy as it was a couple years ago i might give it another shot. all the extra HUD elements like the minimap and Fallout-esque injury display just took me out of it.

Anomaly makes you feel like an action hero, Gamma makes you realise you're just a regular stalker against the odds.

Things are going good, I sniped some bandits, decided to move a little and OOOPS- it was Zombie season and one of the bandit boys snuk to me from the side and express delivery a slug to me while I was swatting the zombies away

i dont even know what stalker is about but this meme made me install gamma (wish me luck, or not)

I haven't played Gamma, but I think this is mainly a product of the Body Health System mod, as I recently tried it out (the mod was required for another one I wanted) and it really does make the game so much more irritating. Especially against mutants, as their attacks will either kill you in one hit (chimera), be a guaranteed hit (pseudogiant shockwave), make you drop your weapon by damaging your arms, or, most likely, damage your legs and make it so you can't run away, which becomes quite a big problem when you're already in melee range to get your legs wounded in the first place. It is also *very* annoying that your body part health cannot regenerate unless treated at a medic or sleeping. Stims and medkits only temporarily restore body part health making long trips away from friendly territory nightmarish as one or two shots to a leg will permanently hamper your movement unless you want to constantly bleed through medical supplies. It also has its weaknesses against enemy stalkers, as crouching or going prone to make yourself a smaller target essentially guarantees that you'll be shot in the head, as that's the only part of you left for the enemies to aim at (I have hardcore AI aim turned off btw) and they will eventually hit you.

Anomaly has very clunky weapons, while Gamma has aimbotting enemies around every corner Both modpacks are decidedly difficult.

the REAL difference between these two is anomaly is pretty good since its essentially just a better misery gamma on the other hand is 400 mods on top of a mod of a mod of a game released in 2009, that forces shitty crafting system and has the most boring gunplay ever.

So basically: Anomaly is more friendly than Gamma? I want to install one of those but I don't want a dark soul experience. For me games are for fun. I enjoyed so much all original Stalker games since 2007/8

I am hating how hard anomaly is, I cannot get shot a single time and my character will have heavy breathing like he has fking ashtma and will die on the spot after a single hit meanwhile my enemies tank 5 gunshots to the chest and unload the whole arsenal of the zone on my weak ass character

lmao Gamma sucks and that is why you see furries and zoomers playing it. You won't catch any real STALKER playing crappy addon packs like that, we play things like OGSE 0692 and AMK SE

I play efp but thats also because gamma just seems like to much of a headache to download but someday ill give it a try alsi from what i know efp is a bit easier but just like base game there are the fun slides if its to easy till a monolith squad stabs you then asks is this ti easy for you

The only mod that ruins GAMMA as a whole is Grok's ballistics overhaul and the guy stands firm that it is the best and tested ballistics mod. Meanwile me, an adhd dumbass overworked student that sleeps roughly 4-5 hours took time and searched the web, ported real life values from wikipedia and bbti for over 300 different guns and ammo from .22 to 14mm (Taz 2 beta) Made a system in 4 months (of which 2 months were testing), that takes the barrel lenght of each gun as a factor (velocity) M4 = 730-780 m/s 62 grain 5.56 M16 20" barrel 930-960 m/s 62 grain 5.56 the mod works smooth like silk unlike the coonan in gamma doing 5 times the damage of 8mm mauser because Grok himself said "stopping power".

Honestly I just play anomaly with 1 enemy dispersion & dispersion factor, 3x bullet hit power, average player armor and hard difficulty, makes it fun and difficult
